Ibbenbueren, 5th Mai 2006 - Aloaha Software has released three new products and announced two new editions of its awarded PDF Suite.
Nowadays it can be essential to know at what time and date a document has been created, archived or published. The local system time cannot be trusted since it is not exact and can be manipulated without any technical knowledge. A timestamp of a trusted source is required in case it needs to be legally valid.
This is even more essential for business correspondence such as electronic invoices. In most countries the sender and recipient of such correspondence have to archive these documents in a way that the date/time is documented and the archive cannot be modified after it has been sealed (for example, German signature law or the Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
This can easily be done with the Aloaha Timestamper. The Aloaha Timestamper packs your files into a self-extracting archive, digitally signs it and applies the timestamp of a remote trusted time stamping server.
Considering that digitally-signed documents usually have to be kept between 10 and 30 years, it is just a question of time that these documents become invalid due to new technologies.
Currently, the Aloaha Timestamper is also available as freeware version.
The second new product is the Aloaha Smart GINA which is multifunctional PC access/logon software based on PC/SC compliant readers and smart cards.
Aloaha GINA is implemented as a hooking GINA without any need for a PKI or network/Active Directory behind. All credentials are safely stored on a smart card protected by PINs. The behaviour of the software may be configured with high granularity.
The third new product is about digital signatures. Authenticity and integrity of PDF (Portable Document Format) documents are increasingly becoming more important. Contrary to general belief PDF files can easily be modified. Thus digital signatures become more and more important. PDF is a common open format for digital documents.
With the Aloaha PDF Signator of Wrocklage Intermedia this widely used file format can also be securely used for official business communication such as electronic invoicing, submitting of tenders or digital signing of contracts.
The Aloaha PDF Signator can sign any existing PDF Document. Aloaha does not require special prepared PDF documents or signature fields.
The digital signature of the PDF file will automatically be checked and indicated by the PDF viewer (Acrobat Reader). The customer does not need to install specific software for this checking process.
The Aloaha PDF Signator supports software certificates and SmartCards/e-ID Cards.
To make it easier for customers to differentiate between the different versions of the Aloaha PDF Suite new names have been introduced. These are Aloaha PDF Suite Desktop Edition, Aloaha PDF Suite Server Edition and Aloaha PDF Suite Enterprise Edition.
