How do I configure a printer to be monitored by Aloaha?

You can start the tool monitor.exe from the Aloaha PDF Directory and choose the printer to be prepared. To re-configure that printer you right click on it and choose PDF Prepare. It is suggested to restart the printer spooler and the creator process afterwards.

I am experiencing that the Wrocklage PDF Printer always switches its mode to "paused". Is that normal?

Yes, every printer being monitored by the Aloaha PDF Suite will be paused automatically. Since the default printer to be monitored is the Wrocklage PDF Printer you will see that one always paused.

The default Aloaha PDF Printer will never be paused!

Can I use the Aloaha PDF Suite to convert SPL files directly to PDF?

Yes, it is possible to use the Aloaha PDF Suite to convert SPL to EMF or PDF. To convert SPL to EMF just drop your SPL file in the autoprint subfolder of the installation directory. Aloaha will try to convert your SPL into PDF. The temp EMF Files you will find in the subfolder of autoprint.

My print jobs remain in the queue instead of being converted to PDF. Why?

There are two possible answers. Either your application is printing in raw or postscript mode even if the printer requests EMF or you enabled printer pooling.
In both cases you can manually reconfigure your monitored printer. Please consult our support or manual to find out how.

How can I convert SPL files into PDF Documents?

You can drop them into the autoprint subfolder. Aloaha will convert them to EMF and print them to the default printer. If you configured the Wrocklage PDF Printer as default you will get them as PDF.

Why do I have suddenly a Aloaha PDF Printer. I've used the Wrocklage PDF Printer until now.

In Aloaha PDF Suite Version 2.5 we introduced the Aloaha PDF Printer. The Aloaha PDF Printer is our own printer driver which we have developed completely from the scratch to meet the quality requirements of our customers. The Wrocklage PDF Printer is delivered only for downwards compatibility.

Can I rename the Aloaha PDF Printer?

Customers who integrate the Aloaha PDF Suite in their own applications maybe want to rename the Aloaha PDF Printer to their desired name. You have to give the printer name in HKLM\Software\Aloaha\pdf\AloahaPortPrinterName to work properly.

Aloaha configures the Aloaha PDF Printer if it starts. How can I change this behavior?

The printer which is set in HKLM\Software\Aloaha\pdf\LeavePrinter will not be fixed in his configuration when Aloaha starts.
